Obvious question #1
[edit]Is it Wisconsin State Highway 10 or Wisconsin Highway 10? :-) —Rob (talk) 19:33, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
- Neither. It's US-10. Or in verbose form, "U.S. Highway 10." If, however, your question was regarding the standard naming convention for Wisconsin's state trunk highways and, more specifically, the non-U.S. Highways and non-Interstate Highways, that would officially by "State Trunk Highway xx", as in "State Trunk Highway 11." Obviously, the verbose form is almost never used and you generally see the common abbreviated form, "STH-11." In common speech, however, Wisconsinites say "Highway 11" for STH-11, but then again, they also say "Highway 41" for US-41, "Highway C" for (County Trunk Highway) CTH-C, and sometimes even "Highway 94" for I-94. See the Wisconsin Highways website and the "STH"..."CTH"..."Highway"? Help! page as well. CBessert 01:52, 26 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit](not necessarily for the article, just a way to keep track - as always info is from Wisconsin Highways)
- If you can handle waiting just a little longer, I'm working on finishing my own Wisconsin Highways Master List 1917-Present, similar to the one on my Michigan site [3]. — CBessert 02:03, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
- Eh, I just find it fun to do stuff like this, and it's probably good to coordinate the links for the former routes. I've made a complete one for U.S. Highways. --SPUI (T - C) 02:40, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

Interstate 57?
[edit]I'm lost... when was I-57 supposed to route north into Wisconsin? jwhouk 07:53, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
- In the 1950s. It was the route number proposed for the Milwaukee-to-Green Bay Interstate that was eventually rejected by the federal government. I-57 would've run concurrently with I-94 between downtown Chicago and downtown Milwaukee. CBessert 01:16, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
List split
[edit]Following the concepts embodied in the "Michigan Plan", I boldly split the list into three and spun out Wisconsin State Trunk Highway System as the new focus article for the system. Also, in doing so, I put List of Interstate Highways in Wisconsin and List of U.S. Highways in Wisconsin onto the templates developed for WP:USRD/STDS/L and corrected a few of the most glaring errors (US 53 can't intersect I-35 in WI because I-35 doesn't enter WI or end at the state line... the northern segment of US 141 wasn't included, etc). Now the future task will be to get this list onto the templates, and fill in all of the information with verified, and cited, details. Imzadi 1979 → 01:10, 20 March 2014 (UTC)
WIS 185
[edit]Where was WIS 185 in 1947? I can't find it. I saw a map showing that WIS 94 was renumbered WIS 185, but where was the first WIS 185? Alexlatham96 (talk) 00:23, 22 August 2019 (UTC)
WIS 177
[edit]Where was WIS 177 in 1947? The only known WIS 177 is not on the 1949 map, but is on the 1951 map, so where was the first WIS 177?Alexlatham96 (talk) 21:26, 8 September 2022 (UTC)
